Letter to My New Self

Dear Jessica

I have been wanting to write this letter a long time ago. I am sorry I always put other people first before you, I know you also needed my attention. Talking about the past sometimes hurts, and certain memories won’t disappear easily, but it is necessary we make a commitment. Whatever I did in the past is in the past. The past does no longer serve us.  I am sorry I made your life not so easy.  All the crying, the pain, the suffering, the heartbreaks, the anxiety, are not necessary anymore. You are a grown up and a brand new woman. Your thoughts have changed, your energy has changed, even your body has changed. You feed your soul with love, kindness, and compassion and do the same for others.

Being around you makes me happy and we have become very good friends. I love listening to you and I love seeing how enthusiastic you are about your projects, relationship, career, and life in general. You understand that you have control over your life and every day is a new opportunity to make things happen. The universe has heard you and all your dreams are coming true. Thank you for forgiving me, I know that guilt and resentment have no room in your heart. That’s why I respect and admire you. Thank you for all that you do, especially loving me.

With love

Your old Self
