My name is Jessica. I’m a writer, illustrator and life enthusiast living in the Netherlands. I write stories based on my life experiences and I also create colorful illustrations that entertain and inspire many.
I’ve been drawing since I was in elementary school, but I didn’t become a writer until I turned 30. I had just moved to the Netherlands, and the cultural differences at that time made it difficult to keep up with my teaching job. So I decided to change careers and start blogging. It was then that this website was born, which has allowed me to combine three of my biggest passions: writing in English, drawing, and motivating others.
A little more about me
I’m originally from Mexico, and I grew up in Tuxtepec, Oaxaca. When I was 19, I moved out on my own to the beautiful city of Puebla. I graduated from Universidad de Oriente Puebla in 2010 with a BA degree.
After graduating from college, I became passionate about teaching English. And that’s what I did for the next few years, before falling in love with a Dutch man and moving to the Netherlands in 2015. A year later, I started my online clothing business, which promotes the work of Mexican artisans (you can learn more about it here). And in 2016 I created this website.
What do I write about?
I love to write about the things that have worked for me. I write blog posts on creativity, happiness, minimalism, and motivation, among many other related subjects. However, if you’re looking for answers, know that they are already within you.
It’s my hope that my blog serves you as a simple reminder of the power you have to choose, create, and live a life that you love.
My work has been featured on major personal development websites including TUT, Positively Positive, The VIA Institute on Character, Steven Aitchison, and Finer Minds.
